Miranda Bair and Bryan Bair met on Facebook and tied the knot just six months later in front of 220 guests – but Miranda had no idea her husband-to-be was 26 years her senior when they first met
Bryan and Miranda met on Facebook before falling in love
A couple with a 26-year age difference tied the knot just six months after connecting on Facebook – having initially bonded over their respective divorces.
Miranda Bair, 38, found herself newly single following a divorce which left her residing in her mother’s one-bedroom flat alongside her children Brooklyn, 19 and Branson, 16. After selling her hair salon business, which she could no longer afford to operate following the separation, she managed to purchase a two-bedroom “fixer upper” home and began reconstructing her life.
Following posts about her challenges on Facebook, her now-husband Bryan Bair, 64, discovered her content and made contact. Bryan enquired about getting a haircut, which Miranda agreed to, and the two developed a friendship.
During a family outing for Brooklyn’s graduation, Miranda and Bryan went for dinner together privately and “opened the restaurant and closed it” while talking for hours. Upon returning from the journey, they arranged a formal date, and their rapid romance resulted in Bryan proposing merely three months afterwards in September 2025.
The couple married before 220 guests on April 8 2026, with daughter Brooklyn also becoming engaged to fiancé Landon, 20, at the reception – which Miranda had organised. Despite internet critics labelling him a “sugar daddy” – Miranda insists they couldn’t be more smitten.
Miranda, a business owner, from Fortsmith, Arkansas, says: “I got to that place where I’d been stripped of everything and had to rebuild on my own terms. He came across a couple of my videos and reached out to me.
“He asked for a haircut. At first I was like ‘I don’t know who this guy is’ but I needed the money. He was just a friend and became a friend to me.
“We were going on a trip to Florida for Brookyln’s graduation and we went to dinner together just me and him for the first time. We opened the restaurant and closed it and talked the entire time and I thought ‘oh my god this is something’ but I’d never dated anyone older than me and at the time I didn’t know his age.
“I didn’t want the perception of him being a sugar daddy or me only going with someone for the money – I can’t fake it if I’m not into it. I said ‘I want to be 100% myself’ which is wild, crazy and saying what I want to say.

Miranda had never dated an older man before her relationship with Bryan

“He was like ‘I want you for everything you are and everything you are not’. He literally worships the ground I walk on.”
Upon first encountering Bryan while cutting his hair, she turned to mutual acquaintances to seek their views on him. She explained: “When he came in for a haircut he was very different and dresses very eccentric – he had on bright orange pants and a leather jacket and I had no idea of his age.
“I thought he was a little older, I was thinking early to mid-fifties. I’ve always dated guys I’ve seen across a room who were super hot and dated for physical attraction.

She made an “intellectual connection” with Bryan, she said

Bryan is older than Miranda’s parents
“I enjoyed talking to him and always one thing I lacked in relationships was the stimulation from an intellectual conversation. I also knew he was an amazing person and I didn’t want to do anything to mess this up but I was still figuring out where I was as a woman and where I wanted to be.
“We went on a trip to Florida and talked all the time and I said you’re older than my mum and dad. I don’t have a good relationship with my dad so I really dived into ‘was I attracted to the paternal side of him?’ because he was older”.
The couple went on their first official date and just three months later, Bryan proposed with Miranda’s children’s blessing.
She said: “We talked about marriage and things and I wanted to make sure I wasn’t the only one getting something out of this. I said ‘I have nothing to offer you it’s just me, I’ve got my kids and literally had to start over, this is who I am.

“As time went on it really allowed him to be himself and blossomed in ways as a 64-year-old man I didn’t realise he could. I realised I give him a lot of life”.
Popping the question on September 17 2025 at a Deaftones concert with the help of her children, the couple were keen to begin their life together and tied the knot just six months later.
“I didn’t want a wedding,” Miranda says. He said ‘you have to have a wedding’. He’s so sentimental and sweet.
“Between both of us combined there were over 220 people there and with both of us only six blood relations. All the people that showed up are friends that have become family.

“Everything I’ve gone through is worth it. On the day I felt like all the love I’d given out into the world was coming back to me.
“It isn’t a marriage for comfort, or security it’s a marriage made of love and yes we’re 26 years apart and it’s a very different dynamic but it’s real.
“I just want people to understand it’s not just a 38-year-old who got lucky with 64-year-old businessman who was good to her”.
