The Federal Government has expressed profound sorrow over the tragic explosion at the Ras Laffan Industrial Complex in the State of Qatar, which claimed the lives of 13 people and left 66 others injured.
In a statement issued on Friday by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, conveyed Nigeria’s heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Qatar, particularly the families of those who lost loved ones in the unfortunate incident.
The minister described the explosion as a tragic event and said Nigeria stands in solidarity with Qatar during this difficult period.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Nigeria, the Minister of Foreign Affairs extends heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of the State of Qatar, particularly the families of those who lost their lives in this unfortunate incident, and prays for the speedy recovery of those injured,” the statement said.
The ministry added that the thoughts and prayers of the Government and people of Nigeria remain with the Government and people of Qatar as they mourn the victims and support those receiving medical treatment.
“The thoughts and prayers of the Government and people of Nigeria are with the Government and people of the State of Qatar at this difficult time,” the statement added.
