The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has predicted that coastal areas and some northern states will experience a high prevalence of malaria and meningitis due to climatic conditions and called for vigilance to manage the diseases effectively.
NiMET raised the alarm in its 2024 seasonal climate prediction, where it outlined how climate information can be used to monitor, predict, and manage health risks.
