A non-profit civil rights organisation, Women Advocates Research and Documentation Centre, has urged the Lagos State Governor,Southwest Nigeria, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to reinstate the suspended guidelines on safe termination of pregnancy.
WARDC asked the governor to do needful and save women from preventable deaths, lamenting that
24 per cent of maternal deaths recorded in Nigeria were as a result of unsafe abortion, with Lagos having the highest figure of the worrisome statistics.
