In the lengthy video, which has since gone viral, Michael narrated in chilling detail how he allegedly carried out the attacks, insisting repeatedly that he acted under spiritual influence.

A man simply identified as Michael Akujiobi has sparked widespread reactions on social media after a disturbing video surfaced online showing him allegedly confessing to the killing of three persons while claiming he was “instructed by the spirit of God.”

Michael, who introduced himself during the interrogation, said he had returned from Lagos to his ancestral home, where he engaged in trading palm kernel and previously sold Indian hemp. He said he hails from Umuezeali, one of the villages or autonomous communities within the town of Awo-Omamma, located in the Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State, Southeast Nigeria.

“My name is Michael,” he began. Speaking further, he said: “Since I came to Igbo land in 2018, I have been buying palm kernel.”

When asked if he previously sold Indian hemp, he replied: “Yes, in my village.”

The suspect also disclosed details about his family background, saying he left his wife in Lagos to return to his hometown. “I left my wife in Lagos and insisted that I wanted to go to my father’s land so that my father’s name would not go astray,” he said.

He said that although his father had eight sons, he was the only one who returned to settle in the village. During the questioning, the interviewer confronted him over the alleged killing of three persons on Friday evening.

“You killed three people,” the interrogator said.

Michael responded: “Yes, sir.”

He then allegedly identified the first victim as his uncle. “The number one person I killed in the same building with me is my father’s younger brother. His name is Joseph Akujiobi,” he confessed.

The suspect went on to narrate how panic spread in the community after the first attack. “All the people in the vicinity now ran,” he said. According to him, he later encountered another man identified as the son of a local chairman.

“He wanted to run. I told him, ‘Come here, are you mad? Since you know me, have you ever run before?’” he recounted.

Michael repeatedly claimed he had “won the battle” and no longer feared human beings. “Since I have won the battle, I no longer fear human beings again,” he stated in the video.

The suspect further narrated how he allegedly attacked an elderly woman whom he accused of being “evil.” “As I was going to Umeme, one old woman came and stopped me,” he said.

According to him, after pushing the woman and seeing her fall, he heard a spiritual instruction. “The spirit now came back to me and said, ‘That woman is an evil woman. Kill her,’” he claimed.

When asked how he killed the woman, he replied: “With my hands. I did not use anything to touch that woman. It was only my hands that I used to kill her.” He added: “I was just hitting her with blows. That was how she died.”

Michael also identified the third alleged victim as one “Mr. Serene Oboe.” “What made me attack him also was the spirit of God telling me that the man was also a bad person,” he claimed.

He alleged that he chased the man, beat him, and later used a hammer on him. “I then collected the hammer… that was how he died,” he said.

Throughout the interrogation, Michael repeatedly insisted that he acted under divine instruction.

“So you are saying that the spirit of God asked you to kill?” the interviewer asked.

“To kill the evil ones that don’t want your child to succeed,” Michael responded.

“The spirit of God was controlling you?” he was asked again.

“Yes,” he replied.

“And you killed them under the control of the spirit of God?”

“Yes.”

At another point in the video, Michael described his actions as “demonic.” “What I did is demonic. It’s demonic. It’s not what human beings are supposed to do,” he admitted.

However, he blamed what he described as spiritual attacks for his actions. “Based on the spiritual attacks, they attacked me. I fought many battles with them in my room for more than five hours,” he claimed.

The suspect also acknowledged that he understood the legal implications of the killings.

“Do you know the consequences of what you did?” the interviewer asked.

“Yes, daddy, I know,” he answered. “It’s life imprisonment or stoning to death.”

Michael further claimed he fled after the killings because he feared retaliation from relatives of the victims. “Those people I killed, their sons and daughters went to my wife’s shop to kill my wife and children,” he alleged.

According to him, he later contacted a friend identified as Ejima to seek intervention from government authorities. “I begged him a lot to call Mr. Uchenna Obioso… to send his squad to come and set me free from here,” he said.

At the end of the interrogation, the interviewer thanked him “for confessing” and “telling the truth,” to which Michael responded: “Yes, sir.”
