Nigerian music star Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has disclosed that the widely celebrated reunion with his twin brother, Paul Okoye (Rudeboy), was never a true reconciliation but a staged comeback, according to Vanguard News.
Speaking in a video shared on his Instagram page, Mr P explained that the reunion followed an apology from Paul after years of family disagreements. However, he insisted the reconciliation was aimed solely at restoring their relationship as brothers and not reviving the P-Square music group.
The singer recounted that after returning from Atlanta, he was informed that Paul had reached out seeking forgiveness. Although he initially struggled to contact his brother, they eventually met and embraced after encouragement from family members.
Mr P also revealed that his wife informed him Paul had visited their home in the early hours of the morning, appearing distressed and expressing exhaustion over the ongoing conflict.
According to him, the family soon learned of their reconciliation, and their elder brother, Jude Okoye, later proposed making a public video announcing the reunion. Mr P said he reluctantly agreed but never intended it to signal the return of P-Square.
He further disclosed that Paul expressed a desire to reunite the music duo, but he declined, stressing that his focus was on rebuilding family bonds rather than resuming the partnership. Mr P recalled Paul passionately calling for the return of P-Square during a family gathering, but maintained that he never shared the same ambition.
The singer reiterated that restoring peace within the family had always been his priority, insisting he never planned to revive the iconic music group.
