A Nigerian woman, Christiana Nwosu, has reportedly died from cardiac arrest while on a visit to the United Kingdom, leaving her family in deep mourning.
According to Punch News, relatives have launched a fundraising campaign to bring her remains back to Nigeria for burial.
The appeal, created on GoFundMe by Chijioke Metuka on behalf of the Nwosu family, disclosed that she passed away on July 19, 2026.
Her loved ones described her as a compassionate and warm-hearted woman whose sudden death has left an irreplaceable void.
The family said their greatest wish is to return her body to Nigeria so she can be laid to rest among her extended family and ancestral home.
However, they explained that the repatriation process is expected to cost about £10,000, covering documentation, funeral director services, transportation, air freight, and burial expenses.
To ease the financial burden, the family appealed to the public for donations and encouraged those unable to contribute financially to share the fundraising campaign and remember the family in their prayers.
As of the time the report was filed, the campaign had raised £7,941 out of its £10,000 target.
This incident follows a similar case reported earlier this year involving another Nigerian woman, Oluranti Akinyemi, who died in the UK shortly after arriving for her son’s graduation, prompting her family to seek public support for the repatriation of her remains.
