A barber identified as Emeka has been arrested by the Abia State Police Command after officers allegedly discovered a clay pot containing human hair and suspected fetish items inside his one-room apartment in Umuahia, according to Daily Post.
The suspect, who was reportedly well known for his barbing skills, was taken into custody on Tuesday after a neighbour, Johnson Ikenga, filed a complaint with the police, alleging that Emeka had threatened him.
A search of the apartment allegedly led to the discovery of the suspicious items.
During questioning, Emeka reportedly admitted that the clay pot belonged to him but could not explain the purpose of the items or where the human hair came from.
The discovery has sparked concern among residents, with some speculating that the hair may have been collected from customers who visited his barbershop.
However, there is no official confirmation to support those claims.
The suspect has been taken to the Central Police Station in Umuahia as investigations continue.
The Abia State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
