A Linda Ikeji report says a pregnant woman was among three women injured in a horrifying knife attack in Paris after a suspect allegedly shouted, “Allah sent me to kill women,” before launching the assault in broad daylight.
The attack reportedly occurred around 9:30 a.m. near Porte de Clichy. French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said the victims, aged 19, 24 and 36, were attacked, with two sustaining life-threatening injuries.
A witness quoted by Le Figaro claimed one of the victims was pregnant.
Authorities arrested the 31-year-old suspect at the scene after he was subdued during a police operation.
Local reports said he was carrying two knives and is believed to have a history of mental health issues.
Videos shared on X showed the suspect, dressed in a cream tracksuit and armed with two large knives, allegedly attacking a young woman before bystanders restrained him until police arrived.
According to a source cited by Le Parisien, the suspect allegedly declared that “Allah sent me to kill women.” Investigators are working to determine the motive behind the attack.
The Porte de Clichy tram station was temporarily closed following the incident. Paris Deputy Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire expressed sympathy for the victims and praised the off-duty police officer who helped stop the attacker, while urging a thorough investigation.
