A barber identified only as Hafiz has been shot dead by suspected gunmen inside his barbing salon along the Badagry Expressway in Lagos State. Punch News reports that the attack happened on Tuesday, July 21, after he had finished attending to a customer.
According to Punch News, three armed men reportedly entered the salon, opened fire on the victim and fled the scene. Hafiz was rushed to a hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
An anti-cultism group, Naija Confra, said the barber was shot twice in the head but noted that the motive for the killing remains unknown. Residents reportedly said the area had been peaceful and had not experienced any known cult-related clashes.
The Lagos State Police Command had yet to comment on the incident as calls and text messages to its spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, were unanswered when the report was filed.
