In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the association, Dr Israel I. Adaigho, and the Secretary, Dr Usamah E. Hannah, the NMA said the medical report being paraded online by Blessing Okoro was an altered document and did not originate from the diagnostic center she mentioned.

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Delta State Branch,South South Nigeria, has denied the authenticity of a histology report being circulated online by social media influencer, Blessing Okoro, aka Blessing CEO who recently claimed she was battling Stage 4 cancer and solicited funds from the public.

According to the statement, the association was alerted to an online histology report allegedly issued by Xinus Medical Diagnostics and purportedly signed by consultant pathologist Dr O. A. Odigwe.

However, the NMA said the diagnostic facility has categorically denied issuing any such report to Blessing Okoro.

The statement read, “Our attention has been drawn to an online histology report purportedly issued to one Blessing Okoro, also known as Blessing CEO, by Xinus Medical Diagnostics allegedly located in Enugu State.

“The said histology report was also alleged to have been signed by Dr O. A. Odigwe, a consultant pathologist.”

The association further explained that the proprietor of Xinus Medical Diagnostics, Dr Odigwe — who is also a member of the Nigerian Medical Association, Delta State Chapter — had contacted the leadership of the association to clarify the situation and provide details about the genuine medical report currently being circulated online.Nigerian political analysis

According to the NMA, Dr Odigwe explained that the diagnostic center is not located in Enugu as suggested in the circulating report but in Asaba, Delta State.

He also stressed that the facility never issued any histology report to Blessing Okoro.

The association stated: “That Xinus Medical Diagnostics is located in Asaba, Delta State and did not at any time issue any report to Blessing Okoro.”

The statement further disclosed that the diagnostic center had indeed conducted a medical test in May 2025, but the test was for a completely different patient identified as Deborah Mbara.

According to the NMA, the test was requested by a doctor from a private hospital in Asaba who sought a confirmatory diagnosis for a suspected case of breast cancer.

“That Xinus Medical Diagnostics was actually contacted in May 2025 by a doctor from a private hospital in Asaba to carry out a confirmatory test on a possible case of breast cancer for his patient, MBARA DEBORAH,” the association explained.

The association added that the test was conducted and the results were officially released on May 9, 2025.

“That the test was done and the result issued to the referring doctor as a case of breast cancer on the 9th of May, 2025.”

The NMA further revealed that the authentic version of the report — bearing the name of the real patient — is currently being circulated online by a legal firm, Allen Juris Law.

“That a copy of that result is the one being circulated online by the law firm – Allen Juris Law, with the name MBARA DEBORAH as the patient.

“That the result online from the law firm is the original version issued to the patient through her hospital.”

The association stressed that the clarification became necessary because of the alleged use of an altered version of the report by Blessing Okoro in relation to her claims of suffering from Stage 4 cancer.

“This clarification is deemed necessary in view of what the altered report being paraded by Blessing Okoro is now being used for,” the NMA said.

The Delta State branch of the medical body also warned members of the public to exercise caution and verify sensitive medical claims before making donations or drawing conclusions.

“The members of the public should therefore be guided accordingly.”

Reaffirming its commitment to professional integrity, the association stressed that the reputation of the Nigerian Medical Association and its members must not be compromised by the misuse of medical documents.Nigerian political analysis

“The integrity of our association and its members is very paramount and should not therefore be taken for granted.”

The NMA also called on relevant authorities and law enforcement agencies to investigate the matter and take appropriate action to prevent members of the public from being misled.

“We call on the authorities responsible for maintaining law and order to do the needful and save unsuspecting members of the public from being taken undue advantage of,” NMA added.
