Former United States President Joe Biden’s prostate cancer has reportedly spread to his bones, with his son, Hunter Biden, describing the condition as painful and debilitating. According to Vanguard News, Hunter became emotional while discussing his father’s worsening health in an interview with the BBC.
Hunter said the cancer had metastasised beyond the prostate and into his father’s bones, adding that the condition had been difficult for the family to witness. He described Biden as the centre and “rock” of the family and said he wished his father would speak more openly about his health struggles.
Biden disclosed his prostate cancer diagnosis in May 2025, several months after leaving the White House. His wife, former First Lady Jill Biden, later said her husband would likely live with cancer for the rest of his life because the disease had spread to his bones.
The former president has previously undergone radiation and hormone therapy. He also underwent surgery in September to remove cancerous skin cells.
Despite his health challenges, Hunter said Biden remains publicly engaged and continues to speak about issues he considers important. He added that his father still strongly believes in the United States.
Biden, 83, was the oldest person to serve as US president, and his age was a major subject of discussion during his four-year presidency.
